TD Friends of the Environment Foundation support Recycling Champs

TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) has signed on to support the City of Vancouver’s Trashtalk project, its newest urban recycling initiative.

“TD FEF is proud to support the Trashtalk urban recycling initiative as it gets local citizens involved in caring for the environment by becoming environmental stewards,” said Mandip Kharod, Regional Manager, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. “Ultimately, these small actions lead to bigger impacts in local communities.”

The project is currently recruiting interested residents in condos and apartments in the West End and Mount Pleasant neighbourhoods in Vancouver to form recycling teams to champion the creation of food scraps recycling programs in their buildings.

Recycling champions will be eligible for funding from TD FEF to plan and implement recycling programs. Funding may be used for printing educational materials, meetings, waste audits, translation services or whatever a specific team decides they need to create a successful recycling program in their building. Emphasis will be on finding ways to successfully engage neighbours to participate appropriately in recycling.
